Principal Geotechnical Engineer at PSM, Adrian Smith has over 15 years’ experience in his field. He is also the manager of PSM’s Queensland operations. Adrian’s primary areas of practice as a geotechnical specialist include rock mechanics design and operations for large mining and civil infrastructure projects.
Adrian has an active interest in academic research and is currently co-supervising a PhD student at the University of Queensland. With extensive operational experience as a geotechnical engineer, Adrian brings a practical approach to the application of fundamental and theoretical engineering design and implementation. Adrian has a particular interest in delivery of projects with appropriate cost and risk.
Adrian has presented at conferences and authored a number of academic papers. He is an active member of the Australian Geomechanics Society (AGS), and the Australian Tunnelling Society (ATS). He is also a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) in the fields of civil and mining (geotechnical) engineering.
