Principal Geotechnical Engineer at PSM, Bernard Shen has over 13 years' experience in geotechnical investigations, earthworks design and control, forensic investigation, foundations and retaining structures. Bernard's primary areas of practice include tunnel design and construction, site investigations, foundation and retaining structures engineering as well as large-scale earthworks for industrial developments.
Bernard graduated from the University of New South Wales (UNSW) in 2003 obtaining first class honours. After completing his studies he joined PSM in November 2004 and subsequently completed his Master of Engineering Science degree at UNSW in June 2010.
Bernard has worked on many major tunnelling projects in Sydney over the last 10 years, including Sydney Metro, WestConnex, NorthConnex, Wynyard Walk, Lane Cove Tunnel and Epping to Chatswood Rail Link. He also has substantial experience in earthworks relating to industrial developments for over 20 projects in Western Sydney.
Bernard has published several technical papers and presented these at various conferences. He is also a member of the Australian Geomechnics Society.
