Dane Pope is a Principal Geotechnical Engineer with over 16 years’ experience in his field. Dane’s primary areas of practice include unsaturated soil mechanics and rock mechanics design in open cut mining and civil infrastructure. He graduated from Griffith University, Gold Coast in 2006 with Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering (Honours 1) and was awarded the University Medal. He subsequently completed a master’s degree in geotechnical engineering at UNSW in 2015.
Dane joined PSM in November 2011 and currently resides in PSM’s Geelong office.
Dane has a particular interest in applying his operational mining experience in managing slope instability across varying projects in both the mining and civil industries. Given the prevalence of reactive soils in Victoria, Dane is actively involved in providing advice and conducting forensic engineering for complex sites with high to extreme reactivity.
Dane is an active member of the Australian Geomechanics Society (AGS). He is also a Chartered Professional Engineer and a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) and Victoria (RPEV) in the field of civil engineering.
