Joe del Rio

Joe is a Principal Tunnel Engineer with over 15 years experience in the delivery of major construction projects in Australia. His main areas of practice include Tunnelling and underground construction works including marine environments and remote areas.

His major tunnelling projects include Rozelle Interchange and WHT enabling works, Northwest Rail Link, Airport link (QLD) and Narrows Marine Crossing (QLD). Other projects within his career include M8 Tunnel Shotcrete Investigation, Western Harbour Tunnel Stage 2. Prior to tunnelling, Joe worked with multiple clients to develop civil projects for the transport and services sector such as Energex, Queensland Rail, Westfield, and several civil projects in his hometown Colombia.

Joe is a member of the MIEAust Engineers Australia.

Joe has published several technical papers on tunnelling and presented at the Australasian Tunnelling Conference. He has also published articles for the ITAym Breakthrough Magazine.
